| In the Spotlight today is 7th Annual Future Filmmakers Forum (FFF), creating a unique experience for students to grow their confidence through film opportunities. The Future Filmmakers Forum is a hands-on educational program for students grades 7 through 12, that seeks to ignite creativity, encourage collaboration, deliver unique learning opportunities, and provide a platform for the voices of future storytellers. The Future Filmmakers Forum has three cash awards just for student made films: The Hot Shot, a jury prize awarded to the overall best student film, and comes with a $1,000 USD cash award; The Spirit of Gabriel award goes to the second place film along with a $300 cash award; and the best Idaho student short comes with a $500 cash prize. Student finalists may also be eligible for a travel and lodging scholarship to attend the festival. Forum alum Cecilia Glenn shares, “Winning an award at a festival gave me a great deal of confidence which inspired me to keep improving my skills as a filmmaker.” FFF provides the chance to learn from industry experts and special guest speakers of the Future Filmmakers Forum. Past guests have included, Peter Farrelly [Dumb & Dumber], Chace Crawford [Gossip Girl], and Jack Falahee [How to Get Away with Murder]. The Sun Valley Film Festival Future Filmmakers Forum event includes a student film screening, Q&A, special guest speakers, an awards ceremony, and a networking reception. |

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL Students invited to the Forum will also receive all-access passes to the Sun Valley Film Festival including events, filmmaker’s lounge, panels, and film screenings.
